48. Sweet dreams

This month of October has been a truly cataclysmic period of our lives and it seems that we have weathered the storm in good shape. Like one of those movies where a family of survivors is trapped in an old wooden dinghy on the verge of a massive tropical storm, we managed to claw our way to the other side with some bruises, but otherwise unscathed.

We started with a P.R. event proving that Ms. Ace’s  ideas as sound, then we found out that Miss Little Sunshine is dealing with organised bullying at the school and decided to take it out on herself -one of the worst possible scenarios any parent can contemplate- then we had a quick trip to China – a few days of disconnect from all the madness in and around our lives.

While in Red China, the nightmare of all MAGA fanboys and rightwing acolytes, we had a blissful beach day. A welcome oasis to a few weeks of stress, anxiety and unhappiness.

Reclined in our rental plastic chairs and drinking half-liter cans of Tsingtao beer, we both contemplated the meaning of life.

We talked. We discussed. We worried. We made amends and we laughed, like we have not laughed in many weeks.

And then. Reset.

Sweet dreams.
